The grand slam champion had to apologize to the rape victim and her family for her rather hurtful comments about the Steubenville, Ohio, rape case (Read here).
According to the family lawyer, ‘Serena was very nice, very sincere and it was a very well-received conversation among two women and a young lady.’'
She also apologized via a press statement on Wednesday that read, What I supposedly said — is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame.’ The family accepted Serena’s apology and said they were ‘proud of her’.
The family has since then accepted her apology and say they are proud of her.
