CONGOLESE MUSIC STAR PAPA WEMBA DIES AT THE AGE OF 66

The king of Rumba and Congolese music veteran Papa Wemba has died at the age of 66. He suffered a heart attack while performing at Festival des Musiques Urbaines d'Anoumabo (FEMUA) - in Abidjan, Ivory Coast yesterday, Sunday April 24, 2016. He was rushed to a hospital, but he died on his way.

Papa Wemba – who founded Viva La Musica – a DR Congo band in 1977 – had collaborations with international artists including Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder during his long music career.

Nigerian singer, Olu Maintain has released a new single titled (Excusez mon Français), meaning 'Excuse my French' when translated to English.

OREZI'S MANAGEMENT DEBUNK RAPE ALLEGATION RUMOURS WITH OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The management team of Nigerian pop singer, Orezi, have come out with a statement dismissing the recent rape allegation against the fast rising pop star. According to reports, the pop star was allegedly attacked by an enraged husband on Sunday April 17, who accused him of sleeping with his wife.

The singer’s management have now moved to set the records straight, saying the accusation is ‘mischievous’.

The statement, which was released yeaterday April 22nd, reads: ‘ We have seen a video that is being circulated about a man who accosted Orezi after his performance in Surulere and accused him of sleeping with his wife. ‘We implore all Orezi’s fans to ignore the video as that incident was a mischievous attempt by the man to gain cheap popularity.
