English football club Chelsea has just signed a mouth watering 10 year sponsorship deal with kit manufacturer, Adidas.
Jose Mourinho has been given the green light to launch a major spending spree after this staggering 300million pounds deal. This deal beats the previous landmark of Manchester United's 287million pounds, 15 year deal with Nike back in 2000.
The club will no longer be overly reliant on billionaire owner Abramovich. The success of in the Champions league and Europa league, joined with Mourinho's return to the club has raised it's global appeal.
According to Chief Executive Ron Gourlay, “The new deal reaffirms adidas’ belief in Chelsea’s status in world football.”
This is the third major kit agreement in recent weeks after Arsenal signed a £30m-a-year deal with Puma and Liverpool signed for £25m-a-year with Warrior.
