47-year-old Nigerian man named as Bakre Yesufu, 47 of Rossington Street, E5 who as at the time of death lived in the UK.The man was believed to have been assaulted in E5 on Wednesday 10 July. Shortly before 16.10hrs on that ill fated day, police came across an injured man on the pavement in Upper Clapton Road, close to the junction with Rossington Street, E5.
They attended to the man, who had suffered a serious head wound following an assault.The London Ambulance Service also attended to him ,then he was taken to the Royal London Hospital in a critical condition. His condition deteriorated and he died on Sunday 28 July at 20:00hrs. A postmortem examination has been conducted on Bakre Yesufu and the cause of death was given as pulmonary embolism.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the investigation on 10th of July and 19th July respectively both have being subsequently charged. An incident room has opened at the Homicide
and Serious Crime Command at Hendon – any witnesses or anyone with
