Taiye Taiwo Faces Tax Fraud Charges In France



Former Super Eagles player Taiye Taiwo has been slapped with charges of tax fraud worth over 1 million Euros in France. The soccer star could lose his Marseille mansion as a Marseille court has already started proceedings to seize his mansion based in Allauch.

According to investigations of the French fiscal authorities, Taiye Taiwo defaulted in the payment of income and property taxes in 2008, 2009 and 2011 of his 900 square meters home they say will be auctioned at 200,000 euros, three times lower than its market value.

Taiwo is said to owe approximately 1,025,000 euros in taxes, but can apply through a lawyer for installment or delayed payment if he is not financially fit to settle at the moment. the 28-year-old defender who was not present at the tax office is yet to respond to the charges.
