I Had To Work Hard To Get Beyonce To Date Me - Jay Z Reveals

One would imagine that being a famous rap star, you be able to get any girl of your choice with ease. Well that was not the case of the 'Holy Grail' hit maker, Jay Z and his Wife Beyonce. The 43-year-old rapper revealed that his early moves to get Beyonce wasn't easy as she wasn't moved by his rap star status. He had to 'wine and dine' her to get her to know him better.

When he spoke about the moment they shared on the cover of Vanity fair's 2001 music issue, he said ‘We were just beginning to try to date each other. Well, you know, you’ve got to try first. You got to dazzle … wine and dine.’

Jay Z is still confident Bey would still have dated him if he wasn't famous, because he was still cool. He said  If I’m as cool as I am, yes. But she’s a charming Southern girl, you know, she’s not impressed … But I would have definitely had to be this cool.‘ He added that she has always had a good girl image right from her days in Destiny Child and has influenced been by his lifestyle saying, 'She is a gangsta now'.

The couple after getting married in April 2008, are now proud parents to Blue Ivy and have attained and enjoyed huge individual success and are able to live a lavish lifestyle.
